Medical tourism exposed through the eyes of two U.S. tourists

(PRWEB) May 20, 2005

Kimberlee Tyner, a Registered Nurse, and Kathy Bogardus, a retired schoolteacher, went to Penang, Malaysia in early March 2005 to undergo liposuction and full facial rejuvenation, respectively. During the television segment, Kimberlee and Kathy discuss all aspects of being a medical tourist.

With Medical tourism being the “topic du jour” and many articles appearing in regional and national press, MedRetreat, in conjunction with WCTI TV 12, is announcing the first television segment focusing on the medical tourists’ point of view. The program contains extensive interviews with two medical tourists who traveled to Malaysia to undergo cosmetic surgery.

Judson Anglin, Managing Director of MedRetreat, LLC, states, “We’re the first U.S. company to provide full service options to Americans who want to go overseas for medical procedures, cosmetic surgery or dentistry. To date, we’ve had phenomenal feedback from many satisfied clients going to Malaysia and Thailand through MedRetreat. There have been various appearances of hospitals and governments promoting medical tourism, but, never from the traveling medical tourists’ point of view.”

This program features medical tourism with a human face, genuine Americans discussing the international flight, surgery details and recuperation in exotic luxury. Anglin says, “MedRetreat offers a variety of worldwide destinations matching the best surgeon and holiday vacation with the medical tourists requirements. And, to ensure the comfort and confidence of travelers, our international partnerships with professional, English speaking aides, provide the unparalleled service and security of a personal attendant for the entire medical retreat.”

The segment airs on May 26th, 11:00 p.m. and May 27th around 6:45 a.m. on “Good Morning Eastern Carolina” broadcasted on WCTI TV 12 in eastern North Carolina.
